Create a Charming DIY Shadow Box
It’s no secret that art is expensive yet we all want something beautiful to adorn the walls of our home. Crafting is not only an affordable way to create art on a budget, it’s also a great way to personalize decor to your individual tastes.
We’re happy to share this project from Craft Warehouse for creating DIY Shadow Box art using a few basic craft supplies and E-6000. It’s an inexpensive project you can complete in less then an hour with long-lasting results you’re sure to cherish.
What you’ll need:
- 12×12 Black Shadow Box
- 5×5 black frame
- Scrap book paper of your choice
- A key (antique or a craft store purchase)
- A large section of Burlap
- E-6000
- Double-sided tape
Easy steps:
- Remove glass from 5×5 frame and set aside.
- Cut scrap book paper to fit the 5×5 frame.
- Glue the key to the center of the scrap book paper and assemble the 5×5 frame (Do not use the glass front).
- Cut burlap to 14×14 to fit the back of the shadow box frame.
- Wrap burlap around the backing and adhere using double-sided tape.
- Place the 5×5 frame in the middle of the covered burlap and adhere using E-6000 glue. Allow to dry up to 24 hours.
- After the glue has dried, put the back on the shadow box to complete your framed art.
